The English Festival is coming next week. Now I’d like to make a brief introduction about some important activities and all of you are welcome to take an active part in them.

First of all, we’ll invite Mr Smith, an American teacher, to give us a report introducing the daily life of the American senior high school students on Monday. And we will get to know more about the differences between the two countries’ students. On Wednesday there will be an English Speech Contest, which is divided into three levels. At last, on the weekend, we’ll have an opportunity to enjoy the English show, for which all the performers have been preparing for a long time and I’m sure all of you will have a good time.

A most interesting tradition is the posting of riddles called 'Lantern Riddles. ' Riddles are written on pieces of paper and posted on lanterns or wall.

Any one solving the riddle is awarded a prize. and the food for lantern festival is Tang Yuan, i have made some Tang Yuan in a ginger soup, my wife got a serious cold, so i cooked a pot of ginger soup for her. i look forward to the next spring festival

校文化节英语写作比赛活动计划

一、活动目的：

创新是当代中学生应具备的品质，为调动同学们对于英语学习的积极性，将大家带入英语学习的氛围中，开辟一条快乐学习、共同进步的新学习道路，至此校园文化节之际，学生会宣传部将协助英语组老师共同举办英语写作比赛，本次活动旨在提高广大同学综合素质，丰富同学们的课余文化生活，提高学校学习气氛。同时，我们将为同学提供一个创造，表现的平台。希望通过这次活动，每一位同学都能够得到新的历练。

二、活动开展：

①赛前安排：首先由各班英语老师利用上课或早自习时间下发比赛通知，让每位同学做到心里有数。组织者准备相关比赛用纸，安排好拍照老师及一些赛前准备。

②比赛过程：统一时间利用早课进行全校比赛，并进行留影。 ③作品评选：比赛结束组织相关老师及学生参与优秀作品评比，分八年级一、二、三等奖，七年级一、二、三等奖。并可另设最佳书写奖、最佳词句奖等等。

④赛后事宜：评比结束后将结果张贴于学校公示栏并利用校广播社进行宣读，也可通过广播朗读优秀作品。将部分作品同时张贴在公示栏供大家欣赏学习。最后由宣传部统一收录作品留档。

附：关于活动的宣传可以由宣传部出一份小海报。赛前可联系学习部对同学们做一些指导。
