我国北方地区在过新年时有吃饺子的习俗，取“更岁交子”的意思；而南方有吃年糕汤圆的习惯，表示团团圆圆，生活步步高。乘着放假，我们也来包包饺子，品尝这更岁交子。
早上，我和妈妈来到小菜场，采购了饺子皮、香菇、胡萝卜、鸭蛋、猪肉这些原料，回到家先准备馅子。我给妈妈做助手。我们先把猪肉打成肉沫，香菇切成小颗粒，胡萝卜刨成蒜泥样子，再把它们倒在一起，放上酱油、盐、味精等调料，最后打上一个蛋。我觉得奇怪，妈妈边搅拌馅子边说下锅煮的时候万一饺子皮破了蛋有凝固作用，馅子不容易散。哦，我恍然大悟，看来什么事情都有学问啊！
摆好盘子，上面放好纱布，我就迫不及待地拿起皮子开始包起来。照着妈妈说的先把中间的边压紧，再把两边往中间一捏，啊，馅子不听话地漏了出来，没办法，只好把这烂摊子交给妈妈补救。重新拿起一只，我少取了些馅子摆放在皮子中央，对折，小心翼翼地这里一捏，那里一压，哈哈，总算裹好了，可放到盘子里它就像喝醉了酒的人，站不稳。妈妈说：“不错，不错，进步真大。”我听了，心里像喝了蜜似的，就包得更起劲了。一个又一个，一个比一个包得象样。一个比一个站得稳。到后来，我还包出了金元宝形状的，小包子形状的，甚至皇冠形状的呢，哈哈，那可是我的发明哦。
要煮饺子了，妈妈让我自己来。我先把火打着，锅里放上一些水，等水煮开了，饺子就可以下锅了。再等水滚了就浇冷水，这样反复浇三次，等饺子浮上来，就可以品尝了。不多久，白白的饺子在锅里上下翻滚，可爱极了。我高兴得叫起来：“好吃喽，好吃喽！”一口咬下去，啊，又香又鲜，味道好极了。
