Dear Colleagues:

I am writing the recommendation letter with great sincerity to furnish you with my knowledge of my student Mimi Zhu in support of her admission to your honorable program, as she was one of my finest students who major in International Economy and Trade in our department. I have taught her two courses from 2009 to 2010 and served as her instructor when she take part in the Students Innovative Practice Competition at 2009.Based on my extensive knowledge and appreciation of her, I am very happy and proud to recommend Mimi Zhu for further studies at your school.

She is superior to other students on the ability to understand and summarize. At her sophomore year, I taught her Modern Currency and Banking which has many knowledge points and relatively dispersed. However, I found the notes she did are very detailed even include the examples I gave at class and note the key and difficult. Making up the complex knowledge into a complete system and clarify the intrinsic link between the various elements reflects the well research potential and valuable analysis ability she has. Furthermore, every time when she asked me question, I could easily find that she has thought many times before. It shows she is the student who has independent thinking and self-learning ability.

During her junior year, I was her International Finance teacher. I feel that she is not only still keeping good habits of taking notes and maintaining attention in class but also her finance-related knowledge in all aspects has increased. Although sometimes she like many other young people feel irritable when some questions that have been thought for a long time but still no solutions, she could control her own emotions and calm down quickly. As far as I know, her achievements were always favorable, her economic courses and other courses like College English, Calculus, Statistic, Linear Algebra, especially English because she paid a lot attention on English and she is one of the few who passed the “CET-6”English test in our department in the year of 2010. I have known more about Mimi Zhu when I acted as a tutor of her project of the Students Innovative Practice Competition at 2009.In order to challenge herself, she choose the project--<Treatment is so costly, medicine is friend or foe?>,which is a social practice program that combines multiple disciplines. She impressed me most is her study ability for non-professional knowledge and she can take theory into practice flexibly, for instance social survey methods, basic principles of market economy and so on. So I have enough reason to believe she will wholeheartedly to study and achieve gratifying results.

Finally, through these two years I get along with Mimi Zhu, her ability to communicate is a light-emitting point. As the girl who has many years hostess

experience in the campus radio station, she always can be very effective and natural communicate with classmates, teachers and event sponsors, propose high quality problems and to some extent control the rhythm and atmosphere. However, due to lack of social experience, her communication is slightly astringent sometimes. I think with the accumulation of social experience, she will be a good communicator. If your school can give Mimi Zhu an opportunity not only can improve her experience but also help her to learn more knowledge, improve professional skills.
